Find your calm + embrace the present

What is Mindfulness?

“Mindfulness” is the practice of “paying attention in a particular way: on purpose, in the present moment, and non-judgmentally.”

~ Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn

What we do...

North Georgia Mindfulness Project, established in 2017, offers in-person and virtual meditation and Mindfulness instruction. Drawing from diverse traditions and Mindfulness-based stress reduction techniques, our programs equip individuals with tools to manage stress, cultivate inner peace, and create positive life changes.

Applying a variety of traditions, including the Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction program developed by Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn, North Georgia Mindfulness Project supports individuals with a synthesis of best practices in meditation and real-world applications. Our programs impart the tools necessary to overcome trauma, transform negative behaviors and thought-patterns, and make positive life changes.

The practice of Mindfulness is the practice of present moment awareness, while noticing when your thoughts influence your emotions and physical sensations. It is a way to create a sense of well-being in oneself through participation in research-based Mindfulness strategies such as meditation, breath-focus, and moment-to-moment attention to the present.

How can Mindfulness change your life?

When you establish a Mindfulness practice, nothing changes, and yet everything changes. The profound transformation that occurs takes place within you. You choose to relate to the stressors in life more skillfully. When you practice Mindfulness, you experience some powerful insights that lead to amazing shifts in all areas of your life.
